The famous city of York is a short 30 minute drive away. There is also the handy Grimston Bar park and ride service on the way to York so you don't have to struggle with city centre parking. There are many walks nearby including Millington (where you can join the Yorkshire Wolds Way), Allerthorpe Woods and the Pocklington Canal. Cyclists can enjoy several routes nearby inlcuding the famous Way of the Roses coast2coast cycle route. We also offer secure bike storage at no extra cost.
Enjoy a visit to the stunning Burnby Hall Gardens, events include an annual Tulip Festival and brass band concerts.
This year's tulip festival is being held from Saturday 18th April to Saturday 9th May.
Allerthorpe lake offers water sports activities including Pedalos, Kayaks, Stand-up Paddleboards and Canoes. There is also an inflatable obstacle course aqua park in summer.
There are some lovely dog friendly pubs nearby. We especially like to stop for a pint at The Gait Inn, Millington after a walk with our 2 border terriers.

Yapham Cricket Club is less than a mile down the road where you can watch a spirited (especially against our local rivals Pocklington) Yorkshire village cricket match on a weekend afternoon.

Visit the market town of Beverley and see its impressive Minster or browse the vibrant market on Saturdays.
There is a local market in Pocklington on a Tuesday and a market in Beverley on a Saturday.
If you enjoy bird watching you can plan a visit to RSPB Bempton Cliffs, part of the headland at Flamborough, between April to mid July to see the Puffins nesting on the cliff edge. You can also look out for Short-Eared Owls hunting in the grassland and lots of Gannets diving into the deep.
